Richard "Richie" Richman Obituary

Richman Richard "Richie" It is with deep sadness that we report the death of Mr. Richard "Richie" Richman. Richie died of heart disease on October 1, 2022. Richie was a talented athlete who excelled in varsity football, baseball, and basketball at Overbrook High School in the late 1950's and Villanova university in the 1960's. After college, Richie played minor league baseball in the Phillies Organization and professional football in the Continental Football League. Richie and his brothers built, and ran, a wholesale record distribution company, Richman Brothers, and a retail store chain, Sound Odyssey. He retired to Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he was an active participant in golf, tennis, and bridge. Richie will be missed by friends and family, including wife Roz, children, Evan and Monica, daughter-in-law Daniela, and grandson, Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts honoring Richie can be sent tothe following organizations. The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, 101 S. I worked for Richie and his brothers for over twenty years, from West Philly to Pennsauken. It always was a true gas. If there is a Philly Sports Hall of Fame, he should be in it. He was a superb athlete in his day and the only one who played in two major college sporting events in the same day.
